A warm, welcoming slide deck created from scratch to help therapists guide new couples through the therapy process with clarity and confidence.

About the Client

ForwardUs Counseling is a trauma-informed private practice based in Minnesota, specializing in couples therapy across all stages of the relationship journey. From marriage counseling to prenatal/postpartum support and discernment therapy, their goal is to help couples navigate transitions with confidence and care.

Challenge & Scope

The team needed a personalized and visually grounded intro deck for their couples therapy clients. It had to feel warm, calming, and professional while guiding new clients through the therapy process with clear expectations and a supportive tone. There was no existing presentation to build from. The deck had to be created entirely from scratch using only a Word document with the content and a previously designed lead magnet as visual reference.

Scope of work:

💛 Design a fully custom, on-brand slide deck using feminine, minimalist visuals with calming gold and neutral tones
🧠 Turn raw content into a clear and structured slide flow that explains therapy stages and goals with simplicity
💬 Include answers to common client concerns and questions to help set expectations and reduce first-session friction
📥 Build everything in Canva with an editable format therapists can personalize for each couple

What I Received

The client provided a Word file with the draft content, a previously designed lead magnet for visual reference, and their brand guidelines. While their website offered some context, it didn’t reflect the tone or structure they were aiming for. These materials served as the starting point to build the entire presentation from scratch.

My Approach

I began by reviewing the content and organizing it into a logical flow that followed the couple’s journey—from first contact to ongoing sessions. I used Canva to build the presentation from the ground up, applying their brand guidelines and referencing the style of their lead magnet to keep the look cohesive. Every slide was designed to feel calm and supportive while still being easy to use in a live session.

There was no existing presentation to improve or redesign. I started with the raw Word file and their lead magnet to guide the visual direction. From there, I created a fully custom slide deck in Canva. The final result was a polished, client-ready presentation that aligned with their feminine, minimalist brand and helped therapists walk couples through the therapy process with clarity and ease.

The Outcome

It has improved transparency during intake, increased client readiness, and saved therapists valuable time by answering common concerns upfront leading to smoother starts and deeper engagement in sessions.
